I can't imagine anything more fun than those little foilers. Just magical.
With or without musak and editing features, straight line sailing has never impressed me
How fast is a boat like this?
Когда вижу эту лодку хочется трех корпусной вариант увидеть
When’s next race? :-)
Thanks! Love the race videos. Nice drone work!!
Wow! Just Wow! Great little foilers..
More like flying. I prefer to feel the water. Speed isn't that necessary.
I had a dna f1 but was not able to foil stable on my gusty lake. I am a experienced a Cat sailor. I can kitefoil, wingfoil with no problems in the same conditions. May be the 2023 boats with newer foil design works better. A foil steering solution like the ifly has would be great.
Great footage, angles and matching audio track! 👍
great video. lots of work editing. hope you had a good driver, wish I could have been there. Lol
Woah!!
How many knots are they going?
18-21 knots upwind and 22-30 kit downwind… max speeds just north of 30 knots!
somehow you tube showed me this. i really liked it.
Brilliant filming. Many thanks.
Hello, can you ask Steve, or do you know what the red thing in front of the mast is?
Got to be the most developed class in history right back to the 1930s always pushing the innovation boundary These look like a real blast for experience helms
Just curious on average how fast are they sailing?
awesome footage well done
wow, amazing sport, some scenes look like a science fiction movie, great :D
Anybody knows what is that thing hanging on the bowsprit?
It senses the water hight and controls how high the boat should fly relative to the water.
Hydrofoils are awesome
Yes, it looks cool, but it's 35K and made in China. Thanks, but no thanks.
Incredible videography!!! What kinda drone did you use?
no sound ?normal?
I spotted a single woman among the sailors - is this for muscle men only?
No! Anyone can sail a moth!
I find those really cool, but don't foilboards+kite go just about as fast for a fraction of the cost?
How long does it take to get 'up' ?
Как эта штука называется?
Yikes‼️
How fast are they going
I just now realized we could have put a hydrofoil on a crew rowing boat back when I was doing it in school. That would have been epic. Never thought of it.
🍬
Pretty vid. What happened in the regatta?
What boat model is this? (This is the WASZP competition model boat)
So, how is this not "Windsurfing" ?
Wen atlantic crossing?
I want to know how many attempts it took to get up. Foils of any kind are exhausting before you ever get air.
It is really easy to get up. Just bear away.
Incredibly!! What is cable in the bow? Do you know the speed?
Anywhere from 20-30 knots of boat speed depending on wind and boat
Lovely track, what it is? Goes really well with the Slomo! Great video, they look like an incredible bit of kit to sail.
Very nice production... great drone shots :-) Thank you!
what is that hanging rod in the front?
The rod in the front is called the wand. The wand measures where the water is and then controls the hight of the boat.
that is so COOL, that looks like Long Beach or LA Harbor? great accompanying music also
Not a single tack or jibe? Not even getting started from a dead sto? It makes the video almost worthless.
whats the dangly bit at the front of the boat ? what is it for ?
Do they ever tack or jybe cant find a clip of them doing it
15:09 13:46
For kids, not older folks.
UNITED STATES NAVY, you can, and you SHOULD weaponize this. It is a superior hullform for manned torpedo boats, and torpedo drones.
What's that thing they all have dangling from the bowsprit?
does that rod on the front control the pitch of the foil? I've always wondered how the boat "knows" how much lift to generate with a single foil - or anything without a stepped foil or something like that where part of the lift would literally come out of the water and stop generating (meaningful) lift.
Was thinking the same, every time it hits a wave the front lifts a little. Kinda makes sense as half your job would be micro-managing the foil.
I was also wondering what that rod was for!
Precisely that. The rod is wired into the flanges on the back of the foils, just like an aeroplane's wing flaps. I think there is a bit of spring/mass dampening as well to attentuate the effects of waves, otherwise the foils would oscillate a load!
